Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic College Admissions Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of highly-selective universities, college admissions landscape, and a genuine desire to help students succeed. You will work closely with students and their families, providing expert advice and support throughout the entire admissions process.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one counseling to high school students and their families regarding college selection, application strategies, and career planning.

  • Assist students in identifying their strengths, interests, and goals to find the best-fit colleges and universities.

  • Create preliminary and finalized list of colleges

  • Guide students through the college application process, including essay writing, resume building, and interview preparation.

  • Review and provide constructive feedback on application materials to ensure they meet the highest standards.

  • Conduct in-person and virtual workshops and informational sessions on various aspects of the college admissions process.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and changes in college admissions and share insights with students and colleagues.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, school counselors, and college admissions representatives.

  • Represent Academia Nut at college fairs, school visits, virtual information sessions, and community events.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and application statuses.

  • Utilize CRM systems to manage student information and track admissions and financial aid outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top 25 university or college in Education, Counseling, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in college admissions counseling or related field.

  • In-depth knowledge of the college admissions process, including familiarity with various college application platforms (Common App, University of California, California State University, Coalition App, etc.).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and families from diverse backgrounds.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their goals.
